Martin Connolly and Maureen Glynn

 I talked to Martin the week before the re-launch of his cd, The Fort of Kincora, at The Fleadh Nua in Ennis from May18th to 26th and was surprised the learn that it first saw the light of day 27 years ago.

   Martin thankfully saw fit to make it available again on the 1000th Anniversary of the death of his ancestral neighbour, Brian Boru, whose palace of Kincora was situated on the banks of the Shannon near Killaloe.

   Martin is considered one of the finest accordion players of his generation and with his fiddling brother, Seamus, has etched out a special slot in the annals of traditional Irish Music. 

   Maureen Glynn came to Ennis in 1992 and immediately endeared herself to all lovers of the music but her special qualities apart from being an accomplished musician lay in the field of teaching where she excelled and is fondly remembered.  

   Martin also makes fine accordions bearing the marque " Kincora".
