Tony Linnane

"Beagán ar bheagán a itheann cat an scadán" - (little by little , the cat eats the herring) and a lot of bony herrings have been eaten in the period since Tony and Noel launched the Hill/Linnane cd on the Tara label in 1979.

   Tony is up there with the legendary fiddlers of Co. Clare, the likes of Paddy Canny, Bobby Casey, James Cullinan and Martin Hayes to mention just a few so it's such a thrill to eventually have Tony's solo fiddle release of July 2023 in Custy's.

  Recorded in his kitchen on the Lahinch Road, the familiar surroundings brought the real fiddling genius to the fore where he played at ease and unchallenged to produce music which was well worth the patient wait.
