Billy Clifford arrived into the shop on the way up to The Willie Clancy Week , July 2009.

   I had never met the man but he exuded a richness and depth of character which immediately marked him as an individual who demanded respect.

   We spent a very pleasant time conversing and my knowledge of his music and his family background was advanced.

   His mother is the great Sliabh Luachra musician and teacher, Julia Clifford, sister of the equally famous fiddler, Denis Murphy.
