Born in 1927, travelled to London in 1948 and returned to Ireland in 1970 when he won an All Ireland Fiddle title and then stayed on and d'imigh sé ar shlí na fírinne i dteach a chara, Seán 'ac Dhonncha in Eanáir 1995.
