Paul Dooley

Wire strung harps of the like that Paul plays began to disappear from Ireland at the start of the 18th Century as did the practicioners, blind male harpers.

  Paul is the modern day embodiment of this ancient craft (some would say, alchemy).Music played on this instrument is magical, spellbinding,tranquilising and Paul is one of a select few who pedals this "draíocht".

  A self-taught harper and also the maker of this willow wood harp which he made in 1986.
