Peter O' Loughlin
A Musical Life
Growing up in rural Ennis in the late sixties, I knew Peter O' Loughlin as "Thady", the delivery driver for McNamara's Bakery. His arrival in Clonroad was heralded by the overpowering smell of the mythic Ennis bread which is embedded in the psyche of my youth.
Later on, I came to appreciate his genius in the traditional Irish music sphere and this release at the Willie Clancy Summer School 2016 will serve as his legacy and install him, rightfully, in the pantheon with the greats of traditional music in this country and beyond.
Recordings span from the 1950's to present day with a booklet containing some amazing photographs.
