Robert Harvey

My father, Dan, from north Kerry farming stock was a fine exponent of the craft of whistling which he honed working on the fine meadows they walked on near Listowel. I remember him performing at  house gatherings and was entranced by the sweetness and clarity of his whistling enunciation.

 Liam Jones , a friend , who features in this book, is the modern day whistling prophet and his ability is mesmerising as he manifests this very anachronistic craft . He is the proud holder of an All-Ireland whistling title.

 Robert has compiled a "fíor sheoidín" study on a craft that we thought had melted into the abyss of time but has re-rooted to blossom again.
